Bees on the TV's: A Familiar Face at the Theater

Posted by Ryan Morgan on September 05, 2013 at 9:43 AM

I was getting comfortable in my cushy theater-style seat at the Harbison Carmike theater in Columbia, all ready for another film treat.

While the endless cascade of advertisements paraded across the screen, a familiar logo popped up. The South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is currently running ads for it's Carolina Teen Health website. These ads feature catching slogans and bright colors, and urge young people to visit the website for more information. My favorite is:

Wishing is not a form of birth control.

It was such a refreshing sight to see. How great that the Campaign has found a unique way to advertise to young people. So much better than another ad for a car wash or overpriced candy from the concession stand. This "Movie Ad" campaign is running for the next 6 months at the Harbison Carmike theater.
