Darlington County First Steps
and its community partners are implementing the evidence based teen pregnancy prevention curriculum, Making Proud Choices
for 150 teens in the county! First Steps is partnering with the Social Work Department of Coker College, the Hartsville Boys and Girls Club and the Child and Family Resource Center among others to ensure that youth can make informed decisions and have the skills necessary to navigate this issue.
"Parents are excited about this opportunity and welcome this resource for their teens," according to one local school guidance counselor. The S. C. Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is reaching communities with high teen pregnancy rates and recently awarded the Making Proud Choices
grant to Darlington County First Steps.
