Who wins on Giving Tuesday?

Tell Them has once again joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

 Giving Tuesday 2015

As you might remember from last year's #GivingTuesday, our office gets into the spirit with a little interoffice antics and competition to see who can raise the the most for protecting reproductive health policies in SC!

Last year the wonderful Ms. Emily Fox raised $1,275 and won the prize for the largest fundraising success in the office!

This year the competition continues -- who are pledging to?

Here's how it works:

Scroll through the staff profiles below to determine who among us you'd like to donate through.  Click on the "Donate to" hyperlink under your chosen staffer's name. Once you're on that staffer's page, tap the "Click here to help us reach our goal!" and you'll be taken to the #GivingTuesday pledge page where you can pledge from $25 up!

Or, if you just can't decide because you think we're all winners, click here to make a pledge into the general #GivingTuesday fund! On December 1 you'll receive an email from Tell Them reminding you to donate.

Megan Plassmeyer, Online Communications Intern

Donate to Megan because she found the rights...but just hasn't found the money yet.

"You should donate to me because I know what the people want. As an intern, I'm basically a social justice foot soldier. I've done the time...now throw me those dimes!

Also, if you donate over $100, I will write you your own personal haiku. #TeamIntern #TeamMegan #MoneyMoneyMoney"

 Megan and Eme

Eme Crawford, Director of Advocacy

At Tell Them we believe that you have the right to be treated by physicians and nurses who are free to offer treatment based on the latest research and best medical practices -- not what a handful of extremists politicians think and try to legislate.

In the spirit of non-experts making ill-informed decisions for you, if you donate to Eme, she and her sister will send you one piece of homespun advice with zero context of your personal situation.

Sample advice: "Go ahead. Buy the panda sweater. You can definitely pull it off."

 Eme

Brandi Parrish Ellison, Director of Government Relations

Donate to Brandi because she is raising a future feminist! #BabyIsla

“Why donate to me? Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks Women’s Basketball say it all. Women play to win. It’s time to bring glory and victory back to the Gamecock name.”

 Drew Melissa

Ashley Crary, Associate Director of Government Relations

If you believe this, donate to Ashley.

“I dream of a world where the truth is what shapes people’s politics, rather than politics shaping what people think is true.” Neil deGrasse Tyson

But of course at the end of the day the women, men, and young people of South Carolina win because with your contribution we're able to continue to educate and advocate for responsible reproductive health policies at the State House!
